This morning’s training was a combined training session with our team and the 64-hour Intro to Firefighting class, with students from our team, Elder Mountain VFD and New Hope VFD. The morning started with a review of fire extinguishers followed by a practice session where we all extinguished a fire in our burn box. We then split into two groups with the first group doing door forcible entry training and the second group doing ladder training. Once each group completed a session, we rotated to complete the other training session. We finished a little later than usual, but the training was a valuable review for our experienced people, and a key training session for those in the 64-hour class that were exposed to these topics for the first time outside a classroom. We especially want to thank Captain Patrick Kellam and Chief Jody Clift from Hamilton County Fire Training for loaning us the forcible entry door tool. It was an outstanding training tool and we learned a lot with it. Thank you! Good job everyone!
